Step into Rwanda’s mountain forest for four days of thrilling primate trekking, volcanic landscapes, cultural immersion, and lakeside serenity. From trekking rare mountain gorillas and playful golden monkeys to sunset boat rides on the Twin Lakes, this adventure combines adrenaline, culture, and breathtaking scenery.
Day 1 : Arrival in Kigali – City Tour – Transfer to Kinigi
• Arrival at Kigali International Airport – Meet your driver-guide and kick off your Rwandan adventure.
• Kigali City Tour – Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for a moving historical experience, explore colorful local markets, and discover Kigali’s art scene.
• Scenic Drive to Kinigi (Volcanoes National Park) – Journey through Rwanda’s rolling hills with panoramic views of terraced farmlands and volcanic peaks.
• Evening Arrival & Check-In – Relax at your lodge near the park, surrounded by misty mountains.

Day 2 : Gorilla Trekking Adventure & Gorilla Guardians Village
• Early Morning – Gorilla Trekking – After a hearty breakfast, head to Volcanoes National Park HQ for briefing. Begin your trek through bamboo forests and volcanic terrain in search of the endangered mountain gorillas. Spend an unforgettable hour observing a gorilla family, watching the silverback’s strength, mothers nursing babies, and juveniles playing in the trees.
• Afternoon – Gorilla Guardians Village (Iby’Iwacu) – Immerse yourself in Rwandan traditions, enjoy cultural dances, drumming, try your hand at archery, and meet local ex-poachers who now protect wildlife. Feel the rhythm of Rwanda as locals welcome you into their heritage.
• Evening Relaxation at Lodge
Overnight : Lodge/Hotel in Kinigi.
Day 3 : Golden Monkey Trekking – Sunset Boat Ride
• Morning – Golden Monkey Trekking – Enter the park again for a lighter trek through bamboo forests to meet the endangered golden monkeys. These playful primates swing through the trees, chase each other, and entertain visitors with their curious behavior. The lively energy of golden monkeys offers a fun and photogenic wildlife encounter.
• Afternoon – Scenic Transfer to Twin Lakes (Burera & Ruhondo) – Drive to the Twin Lakes, where green hills roll into sparkling blue waters framed by volcanoes.
• Sunset Boat Ride – Glide across the lakes as the sun dips behind the Virunga peaks. Spot fishermen in traditional dugout canoes, birdlife skimming the water, and reflections of volcanic mountains in golden shades.
Overnight : Lakeside Hotel/Lodge near Twin Lakes.
Day 4 : Morning Hike or Canoe Ride – Return to Kigali
• Morning Adventure Option – Short hike along the lake shores with panoramic views of Burera and Ruhondo, or a canoe ride with local fishermen for a cultural and adventurous twist.
• Late Morning – Scenic Drive Back to Kigali – Enjoy Rwanda’s famous rolling landscapes on your way back.
• Afternoon Drop-Off – At your hotel or Kigali International Airport for your onward flight.
