This 3-day adventure combines Rwanda’s vibrant capital with the wild beauty of Akagera National Park. From a lively Kigali city exploration to thrilling game drives and a breathtaking sunset boat safari, this itinerary offers the perfect mix of culture, wildlife, and adrenaline.
Day 1 : Arrival in Rwanda & Kigali City Tour
• Arrival at Kigali International Airport – Meet your driver-guide for a warm welcome to Rwanda.
• Kigali City Tour – Dive into Rwanda’s history and vibrant culture :
– Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for history and educational experience.
– Explore Kimironko Market, bustling with colorful produce, crafts, and local life.
– Stop by Inema Arts Center, where Rwandan creativity shines through painting, sculpture, and dance.
– Drive through the clean, green streets of Kigali, often called one of Africa’s most beautiful cities.
Overnight : Hotel in Kigali.
Day 2 : Full-Day Game Drive Safari Adventure
• Early breakfast and scenic drive to Akagera National Park.
• Track the “Big Five” in their natural habitat – Lions prowling through the grasslands, elephants moving gracefully in family herds, giraffes towering over acacia trees, buffalo, zebras, antelopes, and more scattered across the plains. The thrill of spotting a lion or leopard in the wild is an adrenaline rush like no other. Every turn of the trail holds unforgettable experiences.
• Bush Picnic Lunch – Enjoy lunch inside the park, surrounded by nature. Continue deeper into the park, with diverse ecosystems, rolling hills, swamps, and woodlands, each teeming with life.
• Evening Sunset Boat Safari on Lake Ihema – Glide along the lake at golden hour. Hippos grunt in the shallows, crocodiles bask on the banks, and countless water birds soar above. Watching the sun sink into Lake Ihema while elephants drink at the shoreline is pure African magic.
Overnight : Lodge inside or near Akagera National Park.
Day 3 : Morning Safari & Return to Kigali
• 06:00 AM – Short Morning Game Drive – Another chance to catch the wildlife you may have missed. Early morning is the best time to see predators on the move.
• Late Breakfast & Relaxation at Lodge
• Afternoon scenic journey back through Rwanda’s rolling hills. Drop-off at your Kigali hotel or Kigali International Airport for your onward flight.
